Lofting Leaders is driven by the ideology of transforming chaos into stability, and stability into purposeful movement, a core tenet from our Lofting Leaders Journey program. We implement our values—Empathy, Resilience, Inclusivity, Empowerment, Collaboration, and Innovation—by creating programs that are both youth-centered and youth-led.This philosophy guides our approach as we fully commit to listening to and amplifying the voices of youth, ensuring that our initiatives are shaped by their perspectives, experiences, and insights. Through this youth-centered approach, we create spaces where young people can thrive, supported by a community that genuinely understands and values their unique journeys.
Pine Trees
The metaphor of pine trees and oak trees is used to illustrate resilience and adaptability in the face of life's challenges. Pine trees, tall and flexible, bend and sway during hurricanes, enduring the storm without breaking. In contrast, oak trees, sturdy and rigid, often fall, uprooted by the same force. The Lofting Leaders organization uses this imagery to remind us that, like the pine trees, we must learn to bend and shed unnecessary burdens to withstand life's tempests. Embracing flexibility and resilience allows us to weather difficulties without being overwhelmed, unlike the rigid oaks that succumb to their weight and the storm.
